Snacking Geniuses Stand Out From Crowd of Health Conscious Products with Gluten-free, Non-GMO, Kosher Bars
Boca Raton, FL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/22/2016 -- Throughout the world, Americans are known for being total foodies. While most typically look fondly upon a fanatic of fan, our affinity for scrumptious meals is taking a toll on our bodies. Across the board, the land of the free is becoming the land of the fat, and there does not appear to be any slowing down in sight. In fact, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the percentage of students in grades 9-12 who are overweight has steadily risen over the last 15 years. From 2001 to 2013, the rate has climbed from just under 14% to nearly 17%. The good news is that there are some great snacking and food options available that have the potential to turn the tide in the fight on obesity. YummyHealth was founded by a mother of two, Lisa Goldbaum, with the intention of developing a product that is both good for you and made with wholesome, non-processed ingredients. Over the course of the last four years, she has succeeded, growing her brand while fending off competition from other well-known entities.
Just last year, the Federal Drug Administration wrote a letter to KIND, a snack bar company. In that letter they accused KIND of marketing products that are not as healthy as advertised. That letter cited labels on KIND Fruit & Nut Almond Apricot and other products that claim to be "healthy and tasty, convenient and wholesome," as fraudulent. According to the FDA, none of the products cited met requirements for use of the nutrient content claim "healthy."
Meanwhile, the products offered by YummyHealth are distinguishable as being gluten-free, non-GMO, Kosher, All-Natural, and delicious. "We have developed a healthy candy bar alternative that models the classic flavors without the adverse nutritional effects that are paired with traditional candy bars," explained Lisa Goldbaum. She continued "We have effectively replaced the refined starches and sugars in traditional candy bars with clean sources of fiber and Omega 3s."
YummyHealth® was founded by journalist and mom Lisa Goldbaum – who became fed up after watching her kids grow addicted to fatty junk food. She searched for healthier options, only to find that most so-called "healthy" snacks contained as much sugar and processed starch as regular commercial varieties. Lisa created YummySnacks®: delicious, and low in the sugars and starches that wreak havoc on kids' energy levels, moods, and food cravings. YummySnack® products include 6 scrumptious flavors of "better-than-candy" bars made of wholesome real-food ingredients and crunchy snack chips made of real Wisconsin cheese.
