Robbinsdale, MN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/13/2018 -- Nonna Rosa's Ristorante Italiano is proud to announce our 7th annual Bocce Ball tournament is scheduled for Saturday, July 14th, 2018. Part of the city of Robbinsdale's Official "Whiz Bang Days" celebration, it will start at 10AM and prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Place will be awarded at a 5PM Award Ceremony. Prizes will range from gift cards, Peroni Beer items, and trophies. The bracket will be comprised of sixteen teams of four players each, with the option of up to two alternates per team. Entry fee per team is $80 and players must be at least 21 years of age. Please contact Tina Suglia at Nonna Rosa's to register, either 763-537-3700 or online at email@example.com. The 20 teams will be formed on a "first come first served" basis and payment is required with the registration form. Final registration deadline is June 30th, or when team slots are filled. The tournament will take place behind Nonna Rosa's in the Robbinsdale municipal parking lot. Courts will be built that morning using artificial turf and wood blocks, and removed by evening.
Bocce Ball is a sport which originated in Italy, although many other nations play it well. In bocce ball, sometimes called lawn bowling, players toss balls at a smaller target bowl within confines of a large court.
